Frankenstein

About this coin

A portrait of Frankenstein's monster fills the whole face of the coin: a pale, greenish face, heavy eyelids, stitches and metal fittings on the forehead. Black drips of paint spread behind the figure, and the inscription “Frankenstein” runs along the bottom.

Full-colour UV printing captures the cool shades of blue, grey and green and the raw, painterly texture of the background. The contrast between the light disc and the dark blots gives the design the feel of a sketch from an illustrator's studio.

Frankenstein is a coin for lovers of gothic horror and classic cinema – a tribute to the character from Mary Shelley's novel and a Halloween gift that stays in the collection for good.
